FRANCISZEK KSAWERY BRZEZIŃSKI (WARSAW,
SEPTEMBER 6, 1867 – WARSAW, AUGUST 6, 1944)
Son of Kazimierz and Walentyna née Suchorzewscy.
Grandson of Filipina Brzezińska. After completing law studies in Dorpat (now
Tartu in Estonia), he began music studies with Jan Kleczyński in Warsaw, then
in Paris and Leipzig with Max Reger, Stephan Krehl and Arthur Nikisch. After
returning to Poland, he worked as a music reviewer in “Kurier Warszawski”. In 1912
he married Anna Kirchner. He was the Polish consul in Wrocław (1921-1927) and
in Berlin. He is buried at the Powązki Cemetery in Warsaw (section A-1-19/20).
