At the same
concert, Godenne achieved legitimate success in piano pieces by Liszt. She has
a remarkable technique, serving a powerful temperament and a very cultivated
sensitivity. It is rare that a woman interprets works of broad inspiration and
robust writing with such character and understanding. Miss Godenneis certainly
one of our best virtuosos; she’s also an artist, which is better.
